#2         2020 Rules and Regulations
Each artist must sign the third page of these Rules and Regulations prior to participation in the Eatonton One Day Paint Out. By signing, the artist agrees to comply with these Rules and Regulations. Bring this document with you. Organizers will retain the third page the day of the event.


1. Artist must be 18 years of age or older.
2. Registration is $20. Registration may be made: (a) by mailing the attached registration form to Treasurer, 123 Smith Court, Eatonton, GA along with a check for $20 made payable to TAVG; (b) online at www.theartisansvillageguild.com under “Lake Country Plein Air Event” on the Events page or (c) the day of the event. Early registration will ensure that you receive updates and emailed information about the event. At the event bring cash or check. If you have any difficulty, contact Linda Foster at tavguild@gmail.com.
3. The event will be held rain or shine, so come prepared.
4. On the day of the event and prior to starting to paint, artists must submit blank canvases or other substrates to the event organizers at The Artisans Village Art Gallery located at 110 W. Marion St, Eatonton, GA 31024. Organizers will place a stamp on the back side of the canvas(es) or other substrate(s). Paintings without stamps will not be accepted for judging. Do not obscure the stamp when painting.
5. Artist may pre-glaze the canvas(es) or substrate(s) in a solid color prior to presentation to organizers for stamping. No other marks may be made on the canvas(es) prior to 1:00 p.m. the day of the event.
6. Artist must begin the painting(s) at or after 1:00 p.m. the day of the event.
7. Artist must submit the painting to event organizers at The Artisans Village Art Gallery located at 110 W. Marion St, Eatonton, GA by 5:00 p.m. the day of the event. No work can be done after 5:00 p.m.
8. Artist should paint outdoors within one mile of the registration location (110 W. Marion St, Eatonton, GA).
9. Artist’s name, artwork title and date should be legibly printed on the back of the submitted artwork.
10. Entries using manipulated photographic processes, computer enhanced imagery or other non-plein air means will not be accepted.
11. The Artisans Village Art Gallery and The Artisans Village Guild will retain a total of 40% of any and all sale proceeds for artwork produced at the event and sold at the event or at the exhibition at The Artisans Village Art Gallery.
12. Checks for sale of artwork will be mailed after the event.
13. Winner of the event agrees to release the copyright of their entry solely for use in future Eatonton One Day Paint Out events.
14. Images of artist participating in and artwork produced during Eatonton One Day Paint Out may be used in event publicity (website, posters, advertisements, etc…)
15. Artist agrees to respect both private property owners by securing permission to go onto their property and public lands by following any applicable laws.
16. For judging, artist is encouraged to bring a frame(s) with a wire on the back or to paint the return on the canvas(es) or use a substrate(s) that does not require a frame.
17. Winners of the Eatonton One Day Paint Out agree to display the winning paintings in The Artisans Village Art Gallery located at 110 W. Marion Street, Eatonton, GA 31024, from May 2-June 11, 2020.
18. Artist may display framed, wired artwork produced at the event in The Artisans Village Art Gallery located at 110 W. Marion Street, Eatonton, GA 31024, from May 2-June 11, 2020.
19. If Artist chooses to display paintings at The Artisans Village Art Gallery, the artist must supply a frame(s) with a wire, paint the return on the canvas(es) (which must be at least 1 ½ inch deep) and add a wire or use a substrate(s) that does not require a frame, but has a wire.
20. Artists must pick up paintings displayed at The Artisans Village Art Gallery located at 110 W. Marion Street, Eatonton, GA 31024, by June 11, 2020.
